Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 16 oz pork and beans
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 3 tblsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup Bisquick mix
  • 3 tblsp boiling water
  • 1 tblsp ketchup

Step 1

Heat oven to 375. Grease bottoms and sides of 5 casseroles or custard cups with shortening. In 10 inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir in dried minced onion, beans, tomato sauce and brown sugar. Pour into casseroles; set aside.

In medium bowl, stir Bisquick, water and ketchup until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Place dough on surface dustged with additional mix; gently roll to coat. Shape in to bal; knead about 10 times or until smooth. Pat ball into 4 (10 inch) rounds or size of top of casseroles. Cut jack o'lantern shape in crust. Place on beef mixture in casseroles. Bake uncovered 15-20 minutes or until crust is light brown.
