Minted Brownies

Delicious triple layer brownie with green mint frosting in the middle. Might be nice for St. Patrick's Day.

Ingredients
- Add alternately:
- Brownies
- Beat till stiff: 4 egg whites
- Cream: 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 cup sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 6 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup nuts
- Green Mint Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Color pale green. Frost cooled brownies and let frosting set.
- Glaze
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter
- Melt slowly in microwave and blend together and spread over frosting.

Step 1
Fold egg whites into batter
Bake in greased 9x13 pan for 40 minutes (I think at 325°F)
(Best kept refrigerated)
