  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 squares Baker's chocolate
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Karo corn syrup (white)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F.

Melt chocolate and butter in saucepan over low heat. Cool slightly. Add sugar and corn syrup, mix well. Add eggs, mix well. Add flour, baking powder, and salt (sifted together). Mix, add vanilla and walnuts. Pour in well greased and floured 8-inch square pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
