Ingredients
- 2 C french bread,cut into 3/4" pieces
- 6 sm. cloves garlic, peeled & crushed
- 1/4 C unsalted butter
- 1/2 C grated parmesan cheese
Preparation
Step 1
preheat oven to 350
combine garlic & butte in sm. saucepan & place over moderate heat until
butter has completely melted & is bubbling, but not browning
remove from heat
let stand for 15 min
strain butter & discard garlic cloves
in bowl toss bread & butter, evenly coating cubes
place bread cubes on sheet pan & bake for 15 min
stir them 2 or 3 times while baking
once croutons have become deep golden brown & are crisp all the way
through, remove them from the oven & place them in lg. bowl.
add parmesan cheese to croutons while they are still warm
toss croutons & cheese together
