This cake can take many variations.

You can change the flavor of the mix for a whole new taste. You can also change up the pudding flavors.

Examples:
Substitute orange soda for a creamy variation (a la creamsicle).

For a citrus variation, substitute lemon cake mix and lemon-lime soda.

For a strawberry version, substitute white chocolate pudding and strawberry soda.

For your glaze just what ever flavor soda you substituted for the root beer.

  • 1 1/4 cups root beer (see variations below)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch fluted cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, root beer, oil, and eggs. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.

Spoon batter into a prepared pan, and bake for 45 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool completley on a wire rack. Spoon glaze over cooled cake.
