  • 1 large cabbage head shredded
  • 1 onion chopped fine
  • 1 large green bell pepper chopped fine
  • 1 celery stalk chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup cottonseed oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt


Servings 10


Step 1

Combine cabbage, onion, pepper, celery, and sugar. Mix and set aside.

Combine vinegar, oil, and salt in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture and stir well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This recipe yields 10 to 12 servings.
