- 1 large cabbage head shredded
- 1 onion chopped fine
- 1 large green bell pepper chopped fine
- 1 celery stalk chopped fine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 3/4 cup cottonseed oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
Combine cabbage, onion, pepper, celery, and sugar. Mix and set aside.
Combine vinegar, oil, and salt in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture and stir well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
This recipe yields 10 to 12 servings.
