Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoons melted shortening

Preparation

Step 1



Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease an 8" pan. Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Add milk, egg and shortening; blend well. Bake for 20 minutes.
Mini muffins: Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
