Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
  • Garnish: whipped cream, if desired.

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, beat sugar, butter, eggs, and flour at medium speed w/ an electric mixer until combined.

3. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into pie shell. Bake for 10 minutes.

4. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour longer. Cool before serving. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
