Strawberry Pretzel Salad/ Ginny's

Ingredients

  • 2 C crushed (not too fine) unsalted pretzels
  • 3 T granulated sugar
  • 3/4 C (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) cool whip, thawed
  • 2 C miniature marshmallows
  • 2 C water
  • 2 packages (3 oz size) strawberry jello
  • 2 packages (12 oz size) frozen strawberries, thawed

Preparation

Step 1

1. preheat oven to 350
2. combine the pretzels, granulated sugar and melted butter in medium size bowl; mix well. Press mixture into 9X13 baking dish.
3. bake for 15 minutes and 350 until lightly toasted. Remove and cool completely.
4. beat together the cream and powdered sugar in a large bowl. fold in the cool whip and miniature marshmallows. spread mixture with a spatula over the crust in an even layer.
5. bring water to boiling in medium saucepan. add gelatin and stir to dissolve. add strawberries( you can blend them to get rid of large chunks). pour over second layer in dish. refrigerate until firm.
6. to serve, cut salad into square.
