For breadmachine divide in half

Yeast free!!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c sugar1 t salt
  • 1 c butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c sour milk or buttermilk
  • 2 t baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixingbowl combine flours,sugar,baking soda and salt
Work in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs In a separate bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Stir in sour milk.
Make a well in center of dry ingr. and gradually add egg
mix.
Mixing by hand until stiff dough is formed
Turn dough out on floured board and knead thoroughly
Place loaves on oiled bakingsheet
Bake in hot oven 400 for about 45-50 min or until golden brown
ool bread before slicing in thin slices
