- 1
Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 pkg of Pillsbury Pie Crusts (there will be 2 pie crusts but this recipe is for 1 tart)
- 1 egg
- 5-6 Delicious or Golden Delicious apples, peeled and sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut up
Preparation
Step 1
-Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a pan, toss together apples, sugar & lemon juice. Bake on center rack for 15-20 minutes until apple slices are tender, but still hold their shape. Remove & let cool.
-Mix flour, sugar & cinnamon into the butter until crumbly. You may have to use a fork to mash it in. Refrigerate.
-To Assemble: Lay out pie crust on a baking sheet. Pour the cooled apples into the middle of the pie crust; spread them out evenly leaving a 1inch border around the edges.
Fold over the edges of the pie crust over the filling. Pour the topping on evenly. Refrigerate for an hour.
-Bake for about 1 hour, until golden brown. If the pie crust starts to brown too much, cover it with aluminum foil and continue to bake. Let tart cool. Serve with ice cream.
