Easy Big Fat Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 C water
  • 1 pckg. dry yeast
  • 1 //4 C sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 TBS. softened butter
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3 1/4 to 4 C flour

Preparation

Step 1

1. Put water and yeast in large mixing bowl and add next 4 ingredients. Beat with dough hook until well blended.
2. Add 3 1/2 to 4 C flour and mix until dough forms (should not be sticky). Put out onto a floured board and kneed a few times until smooth.
3. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled in size (about 45 min.)
4. Punch down and turn onto floured surface board. Shape into 12 rolls and place in greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Let rise again about 30 min. Bake 350 for about 20 min.. Brush tops of rolls with butter. Recipe is easily doubled.
