Asian Dipping Sauce, Sweet-Hot

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup crushed red pepper flakes
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh ginger root
  • 1 1/2 tea. canning salt

Preparation

Step 1

In a Dutch oven, bring sugar and vinegar to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Remove form heat; stir in the remaining ingredients.

Ladle into hot jars, wipe rims and adjust lids. Process for 20 minutes in a boiling water bath.
