Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 2 TB canola oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 TB cornstarch
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, oil, & sugars. Add eggs, salt, & vanilla; mix until combined. Add baking soda, cornstarch, & a little bit of flour at a time until combined. Stir in chocolate chips, cover, & chill for 1 hour. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto a greased cookie sheet, making sure the mounds of dough are piled high. If using a cookie scoop, scoop one ball of dough right on top of the other. This is what makes the cookies thick! Bake 7-11 minutes. Pull them from the oven when the edges are slightly golden & the centers are barely done. After 2 minutes, transfer cookies to a cooling rack. I got 27 thick cookies that I cooked 10-11 minutes.
