Ingredients

  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 TBS pepper
  • 1 TBS salt
  • 6 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • fresh lemon, squeezed
  • 2 lg. onions, diced
  • 3 lg. potatoes, diced
  • 3-4 stalks of celery, diced
  • 3 TBS butter
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1-1 1/2 cups Wondra (thickening) or flour or cornstarch
  • 3 lbs clams (canned) undrained and chopped
  • 2 lbs raw peeled shrimp
  • 1 TBS bacon grease
  • Crumbled bacon for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Add first batch of ingredients to a stock pot half full of water. Boil until potatoes are tender. Turn off heat and add second batch of ingredients. Combine and bring to boil then remove from heat. Crumble bacon over top. Serve with oyster crackers.
