- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 2 cups freshly made hot, strong black coffee
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream (optional)
- ice cubes, to serve
Put the chocolate, sugar, and milk in a heavy saucepan and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Bring to a boil, beating constantly. Remove from the heat and beat in the freshly made hot coffee. Let cool, then chill.
Put in a blender, add the ice cream, if using, then blend until smooth. Fill tall chilled glasses with ice cubes, then pour over the mocha drink and serve.
