Preparation

Step 1

buy 2 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs and put in a bowl and drizzle with 2 tbsp vegetable oil, then mix the spice rub of 2 tbsp Chinese five spice powder, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp garlic powder, ¾ tsp kosher salt. Power this over chicken and rub in. Then pre heat grill for 10 minutes on medium high heat. Then put chicken on grill and grill about 4-6 minutes each side. When done pour half of sauce mixture, which is 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp Asian sesame oil and ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes and 1 tsp brown sugar, over chicken and toss and let stand 5 minutes. Then serve remaining sauce with chicken. Pour over 3 tbsp chopped cilantro. We tried this on 6/1/09 and Kyle liked it but Ryan did not. Jackie hated it. I loved it. It was very good, sweet and savory and very flavorful.
