Chocolate Caramel Apples

  • 4 or 5 apples
  • 1 14 oz package caramels
  • 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water



Step 1

Remove stems and blossom ends of apples.

Heat caramels, chocolate, salt and water in top of double boiler over hot water, stirring until caramels are melted and mix is smooth. Remove from heat, keeping sauce over hot water, place each apple in hot chocolate caramel sauce. Spoon sauce over apple until it is completely coated. Insert wooden skewer in stem end, remove from sauce and place on wax paper.

Refrigerate until caramel coating is firm.
