Italian-Style Breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 1 TBL cold water
  • 1 (8-count) can refrig. breadsticks
  • dough

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350
spray 2 baking sheets w/ cooking spray

combine parmesan, oregano, basil & pepper in sm. bowl
mix well - set aside

beat egg white w/ water - set aside

unroll breadstick dough - separate at perforations
cut each strip lengthwise into 2 separate strips each 1/2" thick

brush dough w/ some wgg white mixture
sprinkle w/ some cheese mixture
fold dough strips in half lengthwise
twist each strip to form breadsticks
press ends together to seal

brush twists w/ remaining egg white mix.
sprinkle w/ remaining cheese mix.
arrange on prepared baking sheets]
bake until golden brown - abt 15 min

serve warm

makes 16 breadsticks

BAKE BREADSTICKS UP TO 2 DAYS AHEAD
REHEAT IN MICROWAVE OR BAKE IN OVEN @400 FOR 5 MIN. TO CRISP SLIGHTLY
