Beef Burgundy

A great beef dish to serve with company or a cold winter day. Serve over rice and make some hot bread and you have a great meal.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs round steak, cut into cubes
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 teas salt
- 1/4 teas pepper
- 2-4 T butter
- 2 T brandy
- 1 c beef broth
- 1 bay leaf
- 12-18 onions, sliced
- 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 T parsley
- 1/4 teas thyme
- 1 c Burgundy wine

Preparation
Step 1
Place flour,salt, and pepper in a bag. Add meat to bag and shake until coated. Remove from the flour. Reserve the flour. Brown beef in hot butter. Transfer to a casserole dish. Heat brandy, ignite it, pour over beef. Add onions and mushrooms to the pan. Sprinkle in reserved flour. Stir garlic, parsley, and thyme into pan drippings. Cook one minute. Add beef broth and wine. Heat and stir to loosen brown bits. Pour over beef and veggies. Add the bay leaf. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Serve over rice.
