Ingredients
- 1/2 c. unsweetened Dutch-process baking cocoa
- 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 c. half and half
- 4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Garnish: whipped cream and grated chocolate
- Opt. cinnamon and nutmeg or peppermint extract
Preparation
Step 1
In a small saucepan, combine cocoa and sugar; whisk in half and half until mixture is smooth. Over low heat, whisk in milk and vanilla; bring to a simmer. Pour into hot mugs and top with whipped cream and grated chocolate, if desired. For variety, add cinnamon and nutmeg before adding milk or use peppermint extract in place of vanilla.
