Ingredients
- ● 4-6 chicken breasts
- ● 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ● 2/3 cup cider vinegar
- ● 1/4 cup sprite
- ● 2 1/2 Tbsps. minced garlic
- ● 2 Tbsps. soy sauce
- ● 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
- ● 2 Tbsps. cornstarch
- ● 2 Tbsps. water
- ● Red pepper flakes
Preparation
Step 1
1. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. (Crock pot liners are also great!)
2. Place chicken inside slow cooker.
3. Mix together the sugar, vinegar, soda, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper, and pour over chicken.
4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
5. Remove chicken from slow cooker and pour remaining sauce into a saucepan over high heat.
6. Mix together cornstarch and water, pour into saucepan, and mix well.
7. Let sauce come to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes, or until it starts to thicken and turns into a glaze.
8. Remove from heat and let sit for a minute or two (it will continue to thicken as it cools).
9. Drizzle over pulled chicken.
10. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired.
