  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Sifted Cake Flour
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/3 cup Milk
  • 6 stiffly beaten Egg Whites

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add vanilla and mix well. Sift togeather flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Gently fold in egg whites. Bake in greased and lightly floured pan in a 375 degree oven for 20 to 24 minutes for 2 9 inch round pans(or 30 to 32 minutes for a 9 by 13), or until done.
