Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 cup Dry White Wine
  • 1 Tblsp. Cornstarch
  • 2 Tblsp. Cold Water
  • 1/2 lb. Gruyere Cheese
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss Cheese
  • 4 oz. Kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground White Pepper
  • 1 loaf French Bread, cubed

Preparation

Step 1

Rub the inside of the fondue pot with garlic. Discard garlic. Add the wine and bring to simmer. Dissolve the cornstarch in the water and whisk into the wine. Bring to a boil and cook for two minutes. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the cheese, a little at a time. Stir in the Kirsch and season with white pepper. Serve with bread.
