Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/4 C softened butter
• 1 C sugar
• 2 - 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
• 1 beaten egg
• 1 t baking powder
• 1/2 t salt
• 3/4 C packed flour
• 1 1/2 C oatmeal (quick or old fashioned)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix butter and sugar till fluffy. Unwrap chocolate and melt in microwave and add to sugar mixture.

If mixture is cool enough, add egg. Mix well. Add baking soda and salt. Add flour--the oatmeal.

Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 13-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool 2 minutes on sheet before moving to rack.
