Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • white vanilla or almond flavoring

Preparation

Step 1

Cook sugar, egg whites and salt in double boiler until sugar is dissolved. Beat into a meringue & set aside.

Cream shortening and then powdered sugar and then vanilla or almond.

Add meringue and continue beating (you may need to add more powdered sugar for decorating).
