Ingredients

  • Sift together and set aside:
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 T cocoa
  • 1 t salt
  • Add 1 1/2 c sugar to 3/4 c shortening, cream well. Blend in 2 unbeaten eggs and 1 t vanilla.
  • Combine 1 t baking soda and 1 c cold water. Add alternately with flour mixture.

Blend well after each addition. Fill muffin cups 1/2 full.
Sprinkel 1 c chocolate chips and 1/2 c nuts over batter.
Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes.
