Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 Cups Flour, sifted
• 1 tsp. Salt
• 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
• 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
• 2 tsp. Cinnamon
• 1 1/2 Cups Shortening
• 2 and 2/3 Cups Light Brown Sugar, packed
• 4 Eggs
• 2 tsp. Vanilla
• 4 Cups Quick Cooking Oats
• 1 Cup Raisins
• 1 Cup Pecans, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking soda and spices. Add shortening, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Drop by full teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
