Ingredients
- 14 oz. package caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk (halved)
- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 c. soft margarine
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. nuts

Step 1
Melt caramels and half (1/3 c.) evaporated milk in double boiler. Keep warm.
Mix together cake mix, 1/3 c. evaporated milk and margarine.
Press 1/2 mixture into greased 9" x 13" pan. Bake at 350˚F for 6 minutes. Carefully spread caramel mixture over baked crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel mixture and top with remaining dough.
Bake 15-20 minutes at 350˚F.
