Maraschino Cherry Party Cake/Cupcakes

  • 2-1/4 cup flour
  • 1-1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 16 marachino cherries; chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 egg whites; unbeaten
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts



Step 1

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Add Crisco, maraschino
cherry juice, maraschino cherries and milk. Beat for two minutes. Add
unbeaten egg whites and beat for two minutes. Fold in chopped nuts.

Turn into two 8 or 9 inch greased and floured cake pans or fill two dozen
cupcake tins, each cupcake two thirds full. Bake cakes at 350°F for 30-35
minutes or cupcakes for 25 minutes.
