Deep-Fried Green Beans

  • 1 lb. cooked or raw green beans
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • salt and cayenne
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Preparation

Step 1

Toss green beans with salt, cayenne pepper and buttermilk; soak for 15 minutes. Season cornmeal with salt and cayenne. Dredge the green beans in the cornmela, then deep-fry in 2" of oil until golden brown, 2-3 minutes.
