Ingredients

  • Bars:
  • 3/4 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. Butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. Powdered Sugar
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 c. Butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp Instant Coffee granules or crystals
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 oz Semisweet Baking Chocolate, grated (about 1 1/4 cups)
  • Frosting:
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/4 c. Whipping cream

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In medium bowl, beat 3/4 c. flour,
1/2 c. softened butter & the powdered sugar with an electric
mixer on medium speed until soft dough forms. Spread evenly in
bottom of an ungreased 8" square pan. Bake 10 mins.

2. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, beat remaining bar ingredients
except grated chocolate with a wire whisk until smooth.

3. Sprinkle 1 c. of the grated chocolate over hot baked crust. Pour
egg mixture over chocolate.

4. Bake 40 - 50 mins or until golden brown and set. Cool completely
in pan on cooling rack, about 1 hr 15 mins.

5. In medium bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/4 c. whipping cream on
medium speed for about 2 mins. or until fluffy. Spread over cooled
bars. Sprinkle with remaining grated chocolate. For bars, cut into
6 rows by 4 rows. Store covered in refrigerator.
