How to roast garlic

Ingredients

  • fresh garlic bulbs
  • small squares of aluminum foil (one for each garlic bulb)
  • olive oil (about 2 tsp each bulb)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

2. Remove the outer layer of the garlic bulb (to expose the cloves in their individual shells), and cut off about 1/4" of the top of the bulb.

3. Place the bulbs in the prepared aluminum foil squares and place on a baking sheet.

4. Drizzle about 2 tsp of oil on each bulb. Then, bring the foil together and close the bulb inside. Place on baking sheet and roast for 30-35 minutes or until the cloves are soft.

5. Remove sheet from oven and let the foil packets cool until safe to touch. Remove bulbs from the foil. The cloves should be able to pop out of their shell with the help of a small spoon or butter knife.

Can store in a small jar to use throughout the week.
