Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sifted Flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Pecans, very finely chopped
  • 1 Egg White, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • Jelly of your choice

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour and salt together; set aside. Cream together butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture; mix well. Roll into 1" balls and dip into slightly beaten egg white. Roll into finely chopped nuts. Place on cookie sheet about 1" apart. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and quickly and gently press thumb in the middle of cookie. Return to oven for about 10 minutes longer. Cool. Place a bit of your favorite jelly in the thumbprint.
