Mushroom Cheeseburgers

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped canned mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
  • 4 slices process American cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns split
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)


Servings 4


Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the beef, mushrooms, onion, oregano, salt and pepper; mix well. Shape into four patties.

Grill burgers over medium-hot coals for 10 to 12 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once.

Top each burger with a slice of cheese; grill until melted, about 3 minutes. Serve on buns with lettuce if desired.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
