Very Creamy Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1-3/4 cup confectioner's (icing) sugar, sifted
  • 1 tbsp. light (10%) cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

In a small mixer bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add confectioner's sugar alternately with cream, beating until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla and beat on high speed until light and fluffy.

Lemon or Orange: Omit vanilla. Add 1 tbsp (15 mL) lemon or orange juice and 1 tbsp (15 mL) grated lemon or orange zest.

Chocolate: Beat 2 squares (each 1 oz [28 g]) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled, into butter frosting.
