Ingredients
- 6 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
- 4 cups frozen green peas, kept frozen until ready to use
- 1/4 cup chopped scallions (white and green parts)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup diced smoked ham

Step 1
Combine the broth, peas, scallions, and thyme in a large saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 min., until the peas are tender. Purée with an immersion blender or regular blender. Add the ham, decrease the heat to medium and simmer for 2 min. to heat through. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper before serving.
