Ingredients
- 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup light Italian salad dressing
- 2 cups thinly sliced onion
- 2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
- 1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, thoroughly blend first 6 ingredients (ground beef through pepper); shape into 4 oval patties; place them in a baking dish and set aside. In a medium skillet, heat the Italian dressing over medium heat; add onion and mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in tomato sauce and basil. Spoon tomato mixture over patties and bake for 30 minutes or until done.
LC SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve over spaghetti squash. Add a big spinach salad on the side.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve over Angel Hair pasta instead of spaghetti squash.
