Bow tie pasta with sausage tomaoes and cream

  • 8 oz. bow tie pasta cooked drained and kept warm
  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage casings removed and crumbled also is very good with a combination of sweet and hot or just hot Italian sausage3 cloves garlic-minced
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 bell pepper -thinly sliced-if desired
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 28 oz can plum tomatoes drained and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons minced parsley and basil


Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 60mins


Step 1

Heat oil in large saucepan add sausage and red pepper flakes and cook until brown stir in onion and garlic and Italian seasoning and bell pepper if using cook until tender adding salt and pepper to taste add tomatoes and cream and cook until thickened 8-10 mins add cooked pasta to sauce and parsley and basil serve with grated parmesan or Romano


Note save drained tomato sauce to thin sauce if needed or add it with tomatoes and simmer a bit longer
