Date Drop Cookies

These delicious date drop cookies are very easy to make. You can also try adding butterscotch or chocolate chips to them to give them an even more decadent flavor!

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 chopped walnuts
• 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 3 tablespoons of hot water
• 3 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon salt

Step 1

Set oven at 375° F.

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients. Stir until thoroughly mixed together.

Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet.

Bake 10 to 15 minutes.
