Hazel's Walnut Bites

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 and prepare mini muffin pans with paper liners.
In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine together cream cheese, 1/2 cup butter and flour until a dough forms. Roll into 1 inch balls and press them into the bottom and up top the sides of the prepared muffin cups.
In a small mixing bowl, blend together the egg, butter, vanilla and brown sugar until they become smooth. Stir in walnuts then spoon the mixture into the muffin cups, but do not fill at the way to the top.
Place in the oven and bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, until the crusts become golden brown.
To make more festive, feel free to add additional nuts, sprinkles or toffee bits.
