Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana's
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- Frosting
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c marg
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups conf. sugar

Step 1
In a mixing bowl cream the shortening and sugars, add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in bananas and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, add to cream alternately with the buttermilk. Still in nuts. Pour into a 13X9 pan. Bake 350 degrees for 25 to 350 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Frosting- combine brown sugar, butter and milk in a sauce pan, bring to a boil over medium heat, boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, cool to lukewarm. Gradually beat in confectioners sugar until frosting reaching spreading consistency.. Frost cooled cake.
