CHERRY APPLE CRISP

Ingredients

  • 3 large tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 (12 ounce) can sour pitted cherries, drained
  • 1 cup unsifted flour
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup margarine

Step 1

Combine apples and cherries; arrange in greased 2-quart shallow baking dish. In bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut in margarine. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake in moderate oven (375deg F) for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender. If desired, serve with sour cream or whipped cream.
