Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c chopped onion
  • 1 c chopped celery
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 c water
  • 1/8 (or more) tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp snipped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 15oz can tomatoe sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 14-16 0z shrimp
  • 3 c hot cooked rice

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender. Remove from heat and stir in tomatoe sauce, water, and seasonings. simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes, adding water if needed. Stir in shrimp and heat to boiling. Cover and simmer over medium heat 10-20 minutes or until shrimp are done. Serve over rice.
