Boiled Chocolate Frosting

By

From Bobbi Barlow

This is Bobbi’s recipe that I made for Nathan’s birthday cake. It is a caramel/fudgy kind of icing. Put a little of the icing between the layers and then pour the rest over the top and sides so it is all covered.

Ingredients

  • 1 Stick butter
  • 2 squares bakers chocolate
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Put all ingredients in saucepan except vanilla. Heat on low until sugar melts. Turn heat up, when mixture boils cook 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat until creamy enough to spread. Makes enough for 2 layers.
