Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 to 8 tart apples, pared, cored, and sliced (6 cups)
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 3 ingredients; stir into apples. Turn into pastry shell. Combine remaining flour and sugar; cut in butter till crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 400deg for 45 to 50 minutes or till done. If pie browns too quickly, cover edge with foil.
