Rice Pilaf 1

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • A small handful (about 1/8 pound) thin spaghetti, broken into 1- to 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups of chicken stock, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Heat a saucepan with a lid over medium to medium-high. Add the butter to the pan. When it foams, add the spaghetti and cook until browned, about 2 minutes. Add the rice, season with salt and pepper and stir to coat. Add two cups stock and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer 15-18 minutes until the rice is tender; shaking the pan occasionally and adding stock if the rice is too dry.
