Ingredients
- 1 C butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 C sugar
- 6 T poppy seeds
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
- 1 t orange extract
- 1/2 t orange zest
- 5 C flour
- 3/4 C orange juice
- 1/2 C sugar for later

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter. In large bowl, combine eggs with sugar. Beat well. Add poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Add orange extract and zest. Add butter. Add 2 C flour. Add orange juice then the rest of flour. The dough will be stiff.
Cover with plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line cookies sheets with parchment paper and spray with Pam.
Make 1" dough balls and roll in sugar. Press down slightly.
Bake 7 - 10 minutes.
