    C butter

  • 2

    eggs

  • 2 1/2

    C sugar

  • 6

    T poppy seeds

  • 1

    t baking powder

  • 1

    t baking soda

  • 1

    t salt

  • 1

    t orange extract

  • 1/2

    t orange zest

  • 5

    C flour

  • 3/4

    C orange juice

  • 1/2

    C sugar for later

Directions

Melt butter. In large bowl, combine eggs with sugar. Beat well. Add poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Add orange extract and zest. Add butter. Add 2 C flour. Add orange juice then the rest of flour. The dough will be stiff. Cover with plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line cookies sheets with parchment paper and spray with Pam. Make 1" dough balls and roll in sugar. Press down slightly. Bake 7 - 10 minutes.
