Instant Pot Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups boxed Angel Food Cake mix (approximately half the box)
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons water
  • Sprinkles, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Add 1 1/2 cups of the boxed Angel Food Cake mix to a large bowl.
Add 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons of water to the cake mix and whisk until fluffy (approximately 1 minute).
Add sprinkles if using.
Gently spoon the mixture into a 4.5-inch angel food cake pan (about 3/4 of the way full) and lightly cover with foil.
Add 1.5 cups of water to the IP followed by the metal trivet that came with the IP.
Carefully place the angel food cake pan on the trivet and close the pot.
Make sure the steam valve is in the closed position. Turn the IP on and set to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.
Quick release once the timer goes off.
Remove lid and lift pan out. Remove the foil carefully so the condensation does not roll off onto the cake.
When cooled, gently push the bottom of the pan up to release the cake. Loosen from the bottom with a small plastic spatula if needed.
Serve as is or may add powdered sugar glaze.
